WIF-Shield Diesel is an ABYC and USCG CFR compliant Fire protection device designed for Racor Marine Turbine Series fuel filters/water separators. In addition to Fire Testing Compliance, WIF-Shield also provides compatibility with the Racor clear bowl quick drain and the WIF-Pro Water- In-Fuel Monitoring system.
The WIF-Shield Diesel is a fire protection device designed specifically for the Parker RACOR VMA Turbine Series diesel filtration systems (500, 900, and 1000). While it is not the first fire bowl to deliver ABYC fire-test compliance for clear bowl diesel filters, WIF-Shield Diesel sets itself apart by providing four critical additional features that elevate safety, usability, and system compatibility.

Vented Quick Drain Compatibility – Unlike standard fire bowls with a messy hex-nut drain, WIF-Shield allows continued use of RACOR’s Vented Quick Drain, enabling fast, safe, and clean removal of contaminants or fuel.
Tool-Free Maintenance – Designed with a tool-less removable bowl, filter service is quick and hassle-free.
WIF-Pro Drain Bottle Integration – When paired with RACOR’s Vented Quick Drain, the WIF-Pro drain bottle attaches easily for controlled draining, eliminating spills and improving safety.
500 Series Full Compatibility – On the RACOR 500 VMA Turbine, WIF-Shield uniquely enables simultaneous use of WIF-Pro water-in-fuel detection and fire protection—a first for this filter series.
